This cardboard hand did NOT want to go through the typewriter. It had to forced, and after I got to the palm area, it really started to bend, causing the red ink layer on my ribbon to bleed. It’s a little strange that after torturing the thing, it really looks like an injured hand.

A book. On a typewriter. One true sentence at a time.

NEW TYPEWRITER PROJECT!

Typewriter lovers, fans, and friends. This is exciting news! I’ve just launched a blog to track my newest typewriter project: a book.

The typewriter was good enough for Hemingway to write. So it’s good enough for me.

Hemingway is also the inspiration behind the new focus. When he felt he couldn’t write, he would encourage himself to write “one true sentence,” and go from there.

Each day I type out a page of the book. Each day my husband underlines the truest sentence on the page (I’m allowed to disagree). Each true sentence is posted here:
